Our Metallic Foil Fabric has a brilliant, mirror-like finish backed with soft polyester for added structure and durability. Lightweight yet durable, it’s ideal for sewing projects that call for futuristic flair, metallic accents, or eye-catching contrast. Perfect for use with domestic sewing machines—no special equipment required.
- Size: .65mm thick, at least 25” wide by length of fabric purchased
- Fiber Content: 90% Polyester, 10% Polyurethane
- Backing: 100% Polyester
- Recommended Needle: A 90/14 or 100/16 denim or leather needle is recommended for clean penetration through the foil layer. Use a longer stitch length such as 3mm for best results.
- Recommended Thread: 40 wt polyester thread
- Recommended Presser Foot: A Teflon foot or roller foot is helpful when sewing with this material.

Ironing: Do not iron metallic foil fabric directly. Use a pressing cloth and low heat only if necessary on the wrong side.
WANT MATCHING THREAD? We recommend using Sulky 40 wt Poly Deco thread for sewing with this material. It’s durable for all types of projects, and it’s great for both construction and topstitching. It has a shine for a professional finish. Thread 1112 matches this fabric. You can purchase here.
